Hi All,
How any of you have a DIY wall mounting bracket for your Rega P8 or P10? If so, how did it work for you
you and can you please post pics.

One more question please, how would the Pro-Ject's Wall Mount it 5 work compared to the Rega Wal Mount.

I mounted a turntable on a wall years ago. I used L-brackets from a hardware store, a piece of plywood, and Tee-nuts that allowed me to use screws to adjust/level the wood platform. I made sure that the brackets lined-up with the studs behind the sheetrock. It worked fine.

My observations on the two options that you are looking at are as follows:

• Rega: The frame is made of plastic. The width of the frame is less than 16 inches and since typically studs are placed 16 inches apart, you can only get one screw lined with the stud but not the other. You may have to use a piece of wood that straddles two studs and then screw the plastic frame to it.

• Pro-Ject: The frame is made of metal which should hold a heavier load. Also the width of the bracket is wider than 16 inches. However, the pre-drilled holes in the frame are less than 16 inches apart. That means that here again you can only get one screw lined with the stud but not the other. You would need to use a backing board as well, unless you have the tools to drill new two new holes 16 inches apart in the metal frame

What I plan to do, is mount one end of the Rega bracket to a stud on a load-bearing wall
and the other end with a dry wall anchor(self-drilling). The turntable and bracket weight
less about 10 lbs., so I should be good-to-go.

I have wooden floors making my Clearaudio Ovation unusable without a wall mount. If you ever get a heavier TT the Solidsteel WS-5 is a beast and when mounted in to studs I think it can hold up to 130 lbs.
mounting holes are exactly 16” apart.
