I mounted a turntable on a wall years ago. I used L-brackets from a hardware store, a piece of plywood, and Tee-nuts that allowed me to use screws to adjust/level the wood platform. I made sure that the brackets lined-up with the studs behind the sheetrock. It worked fine.

My observations on the two options that you are looking at are as follows:

• 
  Rega: The frame is made of plastic. The width of the frame is less than 16 inches and since typically studs are placed 16 inches apart, you can only get one screw lined with the stud but not the other. You may have to use a piece of wood that straddles two studs and then screw the plastic frame to it.

• 
  Pro-Ject: The frame is made of metal which should hold a heavier load. Also the width of the bracket is wider than 16 inches. However, the pre-drilled holes in the frame are less than 16 inches apart. That means that here again you can only get one screw lined with the stud but not the other. You would need to use a backing board as well, unless you have the tools to drill new two new holes 16 inches apart in the metal frame

I got a pair of large brackets from Amazon, and bolted them to studs as Nicoff mentioned. I also got a piece of butcherblock that is slightly bigger than my turntable, and use wood screws, shimmed with rubber washers through the brackets into the butcherblock. I used some additional washers for leveling purposes. Be sure the wall you are mounted to is connected to the house foundation.

My room is on the second floor, and anyone walking on second floor would disturb playback when sitting on top of a rack. Mounting the new shelf on the outside wall completely fixed that issue.

My initial TT was a VPI Scout, but now is Technics 1200G

What I plan to do, is mount one end of the Rega bracket to a stud on a load-bearing wall
and the other end with a dry wall anchor(self-drilling). The turntable and bracket weight
less about 10 lbs., so I should be good-to-go.

I have wooden floors making my Clearaudio Ovation unusable without a wall mount. If you ever get a heavier TT the Solidsteel WS-5 is a beast and when mounted in to studs I think it can hold up to 130 lbs.
mounting holes are exactly 16” apart.

I bought the StudioDeck +Mastertracker. Potentialy doing a DIY wallmount if I can get past the interconnects lengths.

I appreciate the ideas posted above, good fuel for thought. The StudioDeck is 19"+ wide I think, so, wide load ahead..

It’s nice to have room on the platform to set your accessories. At least the record brush, but also stylus cover and stylus cleaner. Nearby horizontal surface for the empty record cover, and sleeve is useful as well. If the TT cover is not one on a hinge, you will need to put that somewhere too. My previous TT cover was one of those large plexiglass boxes that sit on the TT. Great protection, but took up a chunk of space in my diminutive listening room.
