This is my Linn LP12 with a Brazilian Rosewood Plinth. This table is quite unique as it has been heavily modified with what was known as the Pink Link by Pink Triangle. The top plate was replaced, the AC motor replaced with a DC motor and moved to the 7:30ish position and utilizes a 12 volt DC sealed lead acid battery power supply for speed regulation of both 33.3 and 45 rpm.

The arm is a Naim ARO and the cartridge is a Benz Ruby Zebrawood.

That Linn is the prettiest I have seen. Like the looks of the wood as much as their new anniversary model.

Thank you Dpod! This LP12 is very dear and special to me. I've had it for a long time and it has never failed to communicate the musical message to me in a very believable fashion. It still shocks me at times how this spinner can still evoke such emotional connections with me. Unfortunately, my motor controller is starting to act up and so I will need to replace the DC motor/controller/power supply.

Thanks again for the nice comments

    Hi Dpod4,

I'm really looking forward to being able to hear the AMG V12 this April. Is this your actual table? Do you know if the wood skirt comes in various colors or just the light oak color?

My DIY table. It's basically a combination of a Teres Certus platter and bearing with a Teres Verus rim drive in a one off motor pod. 4" hard maple plinth. The platter and arm board are made from phenolic resin. Teres Illius arm as well and as you might guess, I'm friends with Chris Brady who owns Teres.

There are at least a couple of different finishes available for the wood skirt; on the AMG site they mention American cherry hard wood and a piano black high-gloss finish.

That is quite unique indeed. ...And I love all that solid maple wood at the base (plinth) and platform, plus that 'mortar brick' (motor). ...Is that made of solid steel chrome?

Thanks, it's certainly the best I've managed and I'm very happy with the results. I'll have to take a current photo, looks a bit odd at the moment, three very different sets of amps lined up.

It's a 3x4x6" block of aluminum. I used fine wet/dry sandpaper with a guide to end up with the finish. Mine was a one off, a pre production, non anodized test piece. I think the production versions will be black anodized and have different lettering.

I tried very hard to not use any magnetic materials in the table. The bearing is stainless steel and brass, the sub platter is aluminum, the platter is phenolic resin and filled with lead shot, weighs 35lbs. All bolts are non magnetic stainless steel. There are 3 footers in the plinth that I machined from brass and there is my only bit of carbon steel, a hardened ball tip to provide a contact spot. The footers have a fine pitch screw thread, it's quite easy to level the table, I use a high precision machinist level to get it dead on. There are magnets in the arm but they aren't spinning.

I am looking at magnetic levitation for the vertical thrust, I'm in the process of getting a larger lathe, so perhaps in the spring that will occur.

The HRS completely eliminated a little rumble I was getting when I had the volume really up...I have a wood floor so I suspect that is where it was coming from...

Thanks Audio.bill for the reply on that. I was asking because some of the photos I see on the net, the wood skirt seems to have a more deeper reddish hue in the wood, but in Dpod4's photo it looks like a very light oak….so I was just wondering if there might be more choices offered?

Thanks Myles. The table and arm/cart combo are very good. The table is very musical-not hyped. Have to get the word out somehow. Planning on a North American retail of 18.5k without arm and cart of course.
