I would get the Technics 1200G instead of all three and save some $ in the process.

    But I'm a DD guy.

Listedned to the Technics and IMHO it is way overrated in the comments here on the forum. Not nearly as good as some of the statements let you believe.

Not in the same league as e.g. the Clearaudio.

Sorry, overlooked this, e.g. the Clearaudio Performance DC is great for that kind of money. Even comes with the Virtuoso V2 cart in the package.

CA would not be on my list at all. Have to spend a lot more than other brands to be same quality no matter how nice they look. I do have loads of experience with them as a good friend of mine buys nothing but CA for years and years. Now I live far from him, luckily I don't have to pretend to like them anymore. I'm not a fan. But I have owned a few of the cartridges virtuoso and maestro were 2 of them and they are the same , overpriced for performance. My $1200 grado was way better than the $1200 maestro. Just my opinion though, ymmv. I recently sold a Merrill Williams real (Mike called it corky dorky) but it would compete with any mentioned here for less money than most. Ugly duckling but great performance.
I'm a huge feikert fan, and in my future hopefully will be going that way. I love amg and spiral groove but could never pony up that kind of money. Vpi is talked down upon a lot and I'm one who does, I have owned 5 of them. but under $10k with arm I've not heard many better than prime signature. Best of luck in your search.

    I agree.

I think the affordable VPI TTs like the Scout and the Classic are decent/good for the money. But just like CA they cannot IMHO compete with Feickert, Reed etc.

Yes I agree. A feikert with a reed arm would be serious cash though. But I was talking more the prime sig. Which I think is the sweet spot in the line. Anything above that doesn't sound much different. I have no love for the classic with internal motor. Which I owned one. Something vpi was always against. But sold a lot so they liked it .lol

The Feickert tables are very pleasing to my eye. I thought the Woodpecker sounded good when I heard it... once with Ortofon arm, the other with Kuzma arm. I have not read this thread thoroughly, but I see Prime Signature mentioned, so that must be 5-6K. In that price range, maybe a used Kuzma Stabi Ref 2, or NEW Stabi S-12 would be worth considering. Pairing that with a Stogi 12" arm may keep you in the desired price range.

How is it to the SL1200 of yore , those had serious feedback and rumble issues on systems with big bass/Subwoofer Drivers ..

I could not have them in the same room , where as we could place all our BD floaters in the same room..

The best DD tables i tried back then were the Kenwood KD series , better and less susceptible than the technics with sub bass rumble/ feedback ..
