    Pure Fidelity Harmony

I just brought my Pure Fidelity Harmony home this afternoon. It’s already a gorgeous table in any finish, but John Stratton at Pure Fidelity was able to dye his quilted maple finish to match my Volti Rival speakers in bosse cedar finish and it looks incredible. My Harmony was shipped with an Origin Live Illustrious tonearm and a Pure Fidelity Stratos cartridge, which I understand is a tweaked Gold Note cart. My phono pre is a Parasound JC3+ which also just arrived this week.

It’s complicated to determine the sound changes from my previous Technics SL-1200Mk2/Ortofon 2M Blue and JC Jr pre because a lot has changed very quickly. Clearly it’s an evolution of the sound but I’m not yet sure what to think or what to tweak when it comes to the impedance loading etc on the phono pre. For example, my first impression was that the highs were very rolled off and there was a drop in detail vs the Technics/Ortofon. But I don’t know how much of that is adjustable with the phono pre settings, and what is attributed to the cart versus the table versus the tonearm, etc. So I still have a lot to learn with regard to the analog side of things, but I’m feeling pretty good about the tools I have at my disposal.

    Re: Pure Fidelity Harmony

Thanks, I’ve gotten the impedance settings on the JC3+ pretty well dialed in this morning at 460ohms… Now just gonna let it play for about 50-100 hours and see how things go. It is gorgeous both in sound and looks.
