Re: Kuzma Vs Acoustic Signature Vs AF Vs ???

I can only speak to Kuzma, with zero regret.

Easy to setup, simple and clean design, sounds amazing!

Franc Kuzma very responsive with technical help.

Solid as a tank, solid billet in the Stabi R. You can go up, but from a close source the R is 95% of the top line model.

The Stabi S while not straight forward in looks is also,an amazing piece for a 1/3 of the price.

Great tables, but again, you’re competing with the distributor. Kuzma guy is not like that. AF too.

i think kuzma has a US distributor -- not sure if it is exclusive... but, the dealer i have been talking to is going through them.

Yes. That’s what I was referring to. Kuzma has a great, traditional distributor. The issue with TW is that it’s basically Jeff and no one else and when he’s selling direct, you can’t compete.

Kuzma - superb timely support direct from Franc when needed.

TechDAS - a black hole of support with the US distributor. The worst I’ve experienced. Hate to say it because he seems like a nice guy but it is what it is.

    Kuzma in my Book too!-

-is Scotty still the Agent?--I'm sure he'd work with you on the best deals- and Franc is one of the most helpful in the Industry.

Agree on Techdas- give them a miss, apart from not being fan of the Models I've heard-- the grumpy fellow that demonstrates them is not pleasant experience.

These are pics I snapped from a Techdas shindig I attended a number of years ago. Nishikawa-san as well as Mikey (Fremer) were present. The AF1 had the SAT arm and AF III Graham's Phantom. This is next level in my book, not the usual conventional thinking regurgitated over and over again,

I’m sure Tech Das is top shelf, but for me almost on the extreme end of things.

With the Kuzma, while playing albums takes some work, it is simple to setup and play

Re: Kuzma Vs Acoustic Signature Vs AF Vs ???

I like Kuzma as well. The Model R and M tables are pretty darn good at their price point; not to exclude the Stabi S and Reference XL. Well engineered and built products.

And, of course, the 4Point arms - 9, 11 and 14, are excellent world class performers that won't break the bank.

If I was in the market for a nice table, this is the line I would consider. Well build, excellent sound, reliable, with proper manuals and instructions, and fairly easy to setup.

I have an Acoustic Signature Ascona Mk 2. Great table. Better imo than a Clearaudio Master Innovation. Solid. Simple. Looks great. Great service and response direct from Gunther himself and Robert Hagemann, his international guy. Highly recommended.

I purchased my new Stabi Ref 2 during the same general period the Stabi R was being released. I'm going to venture to say this was 3 years ago. I have zero regrets, and enjoy the table very much! The Ref 313 VTA is a design engineering marvel...great sound, and easy to adjust and swap cartridges. I cheated by buying a spare head shell, and keeping one of my backup carts mounted on the spare. OK...here it comes...I can't help but wonder what a Stabi R and DC motor would have offered in comparison to the Stabi Ref. Just to be clear, the Stabi Ref is the suspended table that's been in the Kuzma line since the mid-late 90's. The "R" is their most recent release, a non-suspended design that price wise sits below the Stabi REF, but I think most consider it closer in design (and is more often compared) to the "M". I guess my feeling is the Ref 2 has become an outlier, and doesn't seem to get much attention anymore.
