I just placed my order for the HRS matching platform (M3X-1921-AMG V12). Any observations from current owners on type of improvement?
Bumpety bump
Darrin,
I spoke with Mike Latvis to find out what footer weight /colour range was used for the 19x21 hrs m3 platform when used with the v12 as i had one red m3 and one green m3. I swapped out two feet on each m3 to create the v12 m3 shelf.
Previously, i had the v12 on a project ground-it deluxe and it was not very well isolated. I use the v12 leveling spikes out about 1/4" When i would knock the stand/shelf you could hear a thump. With the m3 in, i hear nothing. It's a great addition and as with all hrs product, superbly made and isolates very well.

Darrin is a major tease with all his table talk!

Great thanks everyone. I ordered my hrs AMG platform. Will report back see if it makes my Benz +AMG even more sultry.

Just installed the Benz.
I love it !!
And only is one hour of brake in
Thanks Mike for help me out in finding this real Gem
Tonight is going to be a long night
:D
sweet nelson congrats, i know you were looking for that cart for awhile now. best of luck with it!!!
:D
I'm a happy guy tonight
Guys,
The Benz is only a few hours and from what I'm hearing I can describe it as very layback sound , non fatiguing , leave your sleepers on you are not going anywhere.
Very happy :)
:)
Do you think it will improve the sound more after break in , because I think I can't handle more , :D
It does improve with break in. I probably have 50-60 hours on mine. It opens up and becomes a bit more dynamic and most recently the sound stage got bigger but I think that had to do with an expert aligning it on my AMG. Also - it can sound thin unless the tracking foxes is at least 1.9 grams or so.
You said last time 1.8, No?
Cool,
After I reached the 40 hours Mark I will re-check everything including tracking force
Thanks
Listening to AMG V12 and Benz LP-S right now (Michael Hedges "Double Planet"). What is amazing is I have it the LP-S running straight into the air tight ate-1 phono stage that is made for atc-2 preamp. I have never heard my LP-S sound better. Straight into MM phono stage - plenty of gain. Same volume when running thru ARC Ref 2se on MC input. No loading so I assume it is running at 47k. It sounds sweet and dynamic and extended bass and treble. Go figure.

Darrin - that is interesting. Glad it's working so well. Glad you're enjoying your new Air Tight preamp.

Thanks. This is the air tight i have had awhile. Will post pictures of the air tight ate-2001 reference which is preamp and phono.
Was able, with my children's help, to install the custom V12 HRS base for my table. Now I am resting.

By the way, HRS shipped this to me in a bullet proof fashion. Wish they would teach other companies how to pack new components.
Please let us know how things progress with the dedicated HRS-platform for the AMG V12. I will add AMG to our portfolio shortly, where I'm evaluating the HRS-option as an possible addition.
Thanks. / Marcus
First thing I noticed is it took all nervousness of the sound away. At first I thought it made it less lively, but as I listened more the foundation of the music was much more anchored and fixed in space
Interesting, I've never heard the sound of the AMG described as being or having a "nervousness" character to it. I'm not doubting your observations, as I have never had the opportunity to even hear the AMG for myself yet.....just finding the comment as being interesting.
Have you noticed if any one of your three fantastic tables needing some sort of "platform" more so than the others as far as keeping the stylus steady in the groove, or for helping with the final sound of the analog rig?
Haven't tried it just by itself. I find Stillpoints and HRS to have same effect on all my tables. More anchored. Less distortion (jumpy nervousness in mid band and treble).
Anyone have a dustcover over the table? What are the dimensions of it?
I had a dustcover made.

It was a first, so on second try, the height could be reduced 3 inches from what I got. I didn't want it to cover the HRS stand, but we didn't reduce the height. It still serves the purpose and is high quality.
They want dimensions from me. What dimensions is yours?
Since this thread is active today let me say that the AMG with the DS Audio Cart was absolutely phenomenal at Axpona in the SF/ARC room. I heard the AMG last year in Mick's same SF/ARC room but his year was even better! (I don't remember last years cart.)
I also really enjoyed hearing the AMG V12 table in Mick's room. In fact, it was my favorite room. No matter what genre of music they played and no matter how many times I came back, the room always sound terrific! The entire system had great synergy, I thought. The Sonus Faber speakers looked absolutely beautiful too. Here are a few pic's from the show...

Thanks NR, nice pics.
I spoke to Mick today and he attributed at least part of the performance to the DS Audio Cart. As he put it "these speakers are half the price of what we used last year and the sound was at least as good." I was also very impressed by this carts a/b comparisons to the Goldfinger on a two arm Innovation with the Magico M's. Silent background, fast and linear.
Welcome to the forum Deafone, thank you for joining.
I was told by HRS that it is important to put the v12 straight not angled on the hrs platform given weight distribution.
Yeah, I would love to hear that DS cartridge on my AMG or Kronos.
If they stick around and you stick with the DS it becomes a pretty good deal as it comes with its own phono-stage. very interesting indeed.
