I received a call from my Pass Labs dealer informing me that the new Xs pre is ready to ship! Here are a few pics he sent me:

I spoke with Pass and, in short, and while perhaps not as dramatic, the improvement from an XP30 to the new Xs can be likened to moving from an XA series to Xs series amplifier. IMO, if that is true, I'm in trouble :bonkers:.

Any others interested in this?

OMG Michael !!! :exciting:

That's fantastic, I can't wait for you to get it and let us know what you think. My bet is that it's going to be outstanding :woot:

OMG!

I'd love to have that one. My XP-30 was outstanding, I expect nothing less from this one.

WOW look twice the size of the current two box Pre I can only hope I get a chance to here one.

Nice avatar by the way!

Thanks Michael !! In the next few weeks I'll get to do a home demo of the new Devialet 170. I know it probably won't have quite enough power for the Salon 2's,but I will get to hear the magic !! If I like it I'll consider getting the 240,and then add another later.

Very good to see a quality manufacturer making a full function preamp with a full tape monitor function.
Too many expensive preamps these days skimp and don't.

Perfect for the analog freak wanting the best sq with external digital signal processors.

The xp-20 is a great sounding unit, so the XS must be something.

Big +1. Hats off to CJ and Pass and a few others keeping the tape monitor function. Necessary for the use of many new DSP's.

Since the thread title is xs preamp I thought to give you some smaller ones :P

Quick clarification, the units are 19" x 14.5". Phew! I was thinking why in the world they needed such large chassis!
