Unfortunately, I can’t provide one. It was out for delivery yesterday via UPS. Late last night it was updated to be delivered today. Still a no show, but there are a few hours left. :)

Let’s hope for a simple re-routing. Hopefully it will be under the x-mas tree [emoji268] on 25th.

Thanks. Since this is Christmas time, I probably can’t even start asking questions until Tuesday. LOL.

Maybe there is a Santa Klaus. UPS restored the tracking data, and now say delivery is for Tuesday 12/26. I suspect my manager is getting tired of hearing that I have to work at home since I am expecting a package. Personally, I prefer Fed-Ex as you can have a package held at a location to be picked up. Last time I checked, UPS charged for that option.

I like the new, long umbilical. I might put the power supply on the floor and under the rack.

Appears they’ve pretty much kept the same design, requires to read the model number to distinguish it from the previous model.

How’s the sound?

you are going to at some stage tell us if the new umbilical sounds better than the Revelation audio one.

edit - looks like they have a different connector now. similar to Naim. they look at lot better

cheers

Installed this morning, and as soon as I turned it on I thought, “This is good.” Pretty much the same thing I thought when I first heard the S5 in my system.

Anyway, the pre has been playing all day. Obviously, it needs some burn in time, but it certainly is the equal of the XP-20, and that was an XP-20 with the Revelation Audio umbilical.

I like this new, longer umbilical with the aircraft grade plugs and connectors. The drawback to the RA DB-25 connector was it had to be screwed in with a small screwdriver. Trying to reach behind the XP-20 to install this cable was painful. The aircraft Canon plugs are simple to install from the front.

Anyway, I have the power supply on the floor under the rack, and the preamp on brass footers. Plus, I installed a ground cable between the pre chassis, and the Triton ground bus. With the 20 I had the ground on the ps chassis.

I will let it play nonstop all weekend, and I might take Friday off so that I can start evaluating the XP-22 tomorrow night. Right now it is really sounding good, but I can’t give a definitive difference between it and the XP-20.

Looking good Bud! Looking forward to your impressions as it breaks in, especially vs XP20.
