Hello sharks-
I'm out in SF for work/play and like to visit the local hifi shops when I can. Yesterday I dropped in at World of Sound and spent close to 4 hours hanging out listening to music.
It's a small shop to be sure, but they carry a full line of McIntosh, NAD, Marantz, and a few others. Super nice guys, very accommodating, especially knowing I was from out of town and was there to "kick the tires".
I listened to a few different pairs of speakers (Kef LS50, B&W 803D4) but the ones that really impressed me were the Monitor Audio Gold 300's. Listening with Mc C50/MC302, I heard buckets of detail, a soundstage that was wide and DEEP, all while remaining completely non-fatiguing. If I were in the market, the 200's would be on my short-list, as they would be more appropriate for the size of my room.
Just wanted to share my experience with a great pair of speakers in a great little shop in Marin.
