As with a lot of us, I keep looking at swapping out some pieces of gear periodically.
I see speakers listed that I would possibly pursue but they are "for local pick up only". And sometimes they are on the other side of the country, without boxes ETC and the seller does not want to go thru finding boxes, packing, delivery to shipper ETC.
I have heard that their are some companies that do a pick up, packaging and delivery door to door.
If you are familiar with any of these companies and or have personal experience with them please let us all know.
Thanks

I have speakers (Raidho XT-2's) that need to be shipped on skids for protection. My dealer is going to arrange for them to be picked up and put into temporary storage so they can be put on a skid and shipped by a shipper. He has to do it for shows so he's told me he'll arrange it for me. In your case, you need to have them picked up and packaged for shipment. It can be done but I don't know who to contact.
In my case It's going to cost about $400 to ship my speakers from Arizona to Chicago. They aren't very big or heavy, just expensive. Hence the need for the skid.

There is no easy button. Freight companies are slammed right now. Just slammed. If the person doesn’t have the original shipping cartons (which has occasionally happens), then you either have to purchase original packing materials from the manufacturer or make it a local sale. Freight companies aren’t going to just have packing materials laying around.

NOW, if the item is small enough, then a Pack & Ship place can often handle it. Think: DAC, CD player, Phonostage, preamp, etc. But not big ass speakers or heavy ass amps.

With the big items, you have to pack it up and arrange for pickup. SOMETIMES, white glove service can be provided for a fee on the delivery end — but it’s not inexpensive.

I’m still amazed at people that don’t keep the boxes, especially those that like to try different gear.

I have three 10 x 25 storage units stuffed to the ceiling with empty crates and empty boxes, front to back, and I need a fourth now, so don’t tell me about storing boxes and crates. :)

So true Mike, trying to ship during the holiday season is a pain. I was shipping a motor to a guy in NV, and its crated on a pallet, I can it get there, by a Car carrier ( Reliable ) faster than a normal freight company and then we have to load it with a forklift, which I had to rent. Shipping heavy items is always a challenge. . Shipping freight, Southern Freight, Saturn Freight,

PS: I lost my speaker boxes, among other stuff during a garage flooding during Mathew.

I have used piano movers in the past. They expect heavy loads and anal customers that don't want damage. They moved (2) 400lb subwoofers without crating with zero damage to the units or the walls. Very impressed!
