As title said just curious to know if any one use multiple different amps on one pair of speakers on 2 ch system?

If so, would you share what brand and the reason you have more than one ?

Thanks

I am getting ready to implement valve power for mids and tops and solid state for bass.

Would love to have kept it all valves but the bass driver needs high current.

I have used the T+A and McIntosh in a bi-amp configuration. That combo works very well, however I believe that the SET amp sounds best on it's own. Bi-amping either of the other amps with it or using the subwoofer tends to muddy it up. It just sounds better (that magical SET sound) without using the other pieces at the same time.

For fun I tried it with my Clearfields a while back. I hooked an Odyssey Stratos+ to the lower section and my Counterpoint NPS-400 to the top. Not true Bi-Amp due to the crossover and due to the amps being so different, it was not a good match.
