What protocol does the Lumin DAC use?

This question may have been asked already but I couldn't find it.

Which DAC protocol does Lumin use? =Is it USB, SPDIF, AES or other? I've been reading about the Ravenna Ethernet protocol that Merging Technologies has been using for years with their Pro equipment which trickled down recently to their NADAC consumer DAC.

I don't intend to get into a debate as to which protocol is better, just curious what Lumin uses as it's sort of hidden from us as the connections are inside the case.

All of the current Lumin players (except U1, which is a network transport only) include a network transport + DAC. The internal protocol "hidden inside the case" between the network transport and the DAC is I2S.
