It seems almost all Lumin posts are people saying something doesn’t work with their Lumin. I have an X1, and an S1, and have never had any issues over approximately 10 years. They just work. I add new music every week to my direct attached hard drive, and run the playlists on random shuffle, and it works fine.

Am I being discriminated against? What am I doing wrong?

Generally the same handful of people. Never had an issue either that was more than a network problem or user error.

The failure mode(s) I was encountering were completely resolved when I followed Peter Lie's advice to re-boot everything, including music server, network router, OM, etc.

Everything humming along swimmingly now. And the P1 is...FAB! 👍👌

Never had an issue with my S1 and X1. My house had a direct lighting hit which damaged a few appliances including the communications board of the LUMIN X1. And, as expected, Lumin quickly facilitated a replacement card.

Sounds like you are bragging while you are complaining.

It is good to see positive feedback on Lumin. I have to say all of the threads with issues does tend to give a one sided impression.

However, Peter's support is commendable and I'm sure appreciated.

I'm not a computer guy that's the reason I have a server. So setting even something like that up can be a challenge and you need someone to reach out to.

Never had a problem with the X1. U1 and u1 mini. I think the noise coming are mostly from networking issues that most audiophiles care less to up the attention to it.

Network music streaming is complex, as illustrated in this post (it does not affect Lumin native streaming AFAIK):
Roon jumping randomly when streaming music from Tidal [See Staff Post] - #173 by brian - Support - Roon Labs Community

(I still encourage BlueFox to try internet streaming, no matter what.)

Likewise, a certain paid FLAC radio service provider often has some but not all servers broken. They also break in a way that affects some apps but not others.

I never thought participating in a public forum would cause the false impression that we have a lot of issues. But never mind.

maybe you misunderstood, that Is good you participate and I think it would help if more company's had employees that did.

Just the opposite, I believe you're seeing many people saying here - that Lumin, and you - provide above-and-beyond support on this and other forums and in reliable, quick private message replies. Support that goes beyond what most manufacturers can or are willing to do. And we thank you for it.

The corollary I think we see in response to this thread is that most of the problems are coming from people who are still developing the skills/understanding needed to assemble an audio system that has technical components to it. Many never will complete that, and you, personally, and Lumin in general, are excellent at explaining in simple, clear layman terms how to get them up and running.

I will say it plainly, that Lumin is about as plug-and-play technology as you'll ever see. (A good thing, and I'm sure Lumin's intent because many in this hobby aren't technologists). So persistent problems are most likely on the user side of things (network, or understanding, lack of troubleshooting skills, etc), and maybe - I think much less frequently - a problem with app or device. And to come back to it, you've personally demonstrated a willingness to help people learn and solve.
