Want the best 300B tubes on the planet?

The latest update on the new production of Western Electric 300B tubes is that expected availability is now in December.

Details about the new production WE 300B tubes with expected availability in December. Note the FAQ section towards the bottom of the product page which addresses differences from vintage production tubes and their 5-year limited warranty when registered. "The new 300B’s will be priced at a reasonable rate of $1299 per matched pair or $599 for a single. They will also be available in quads and octets. Each tube ships with our peerless 5-year limited warranty."

And here I am fretting over $300 for a full set of NOS for my new SET amplifiers :). That is just plain crazy.

New reissue Western Electric 300B are coming so that will hopefully be great.

In my Halgorythme pre amp, Cédric, the creator, put his own 1928 WE tubes to demonstrate.
Only 3000€ a pair.

But I have to admit I prefer the Emission Labs tubes he installed afterwards.
Perhaps a little less "lush" sounding, but more "accurate".

Sorry guys, I looked into my pictures and saw I posted some wrong data.

The tubes were not from Western Electric, and from 1926, not 1928:

I forgot the brand.

Afterwards, we did try Western Electric VT25A tubes from 1940:

I'm going to predict that pair of WE tubes will end up somewhere in Asia.
