Hello -

I have my first BAT piece of equipment arriving tomorrow; a black VK-3000SE. I have had an eye on their equipment for years and finally decided to pull the tigger on a piece. I hope this gets me off the equipment merry go round.

It is still in flux at the moment but the plan is a Holo Audio Spring DAC L3 > BAT VK-3000SE > Aerial 7T Speakers. All cabling is CablePro Vitality (IC, SC, PC).

Congratulations!

BAT makes awesome gear ... What is the rest of your chain?

Those Holo Spring DACs are making a lot of news all over.
Are you into high rate DSD? Do you plan a streamer or computer audio?

Haven't heard much about the Aerial 7T recently - should be interesting to hear your impressions.

My primary interest is the R2R design. The two best DACs I have ever owned were both Theta Digital R2R designs, Gen Va and the Gen VIII Series 1. I would consider a Gen VIII Series 3 if it did not retail for $14K. I might try high rate DSD down the road. I have an Intel NUC running Roon ROCK and plan to connect it via USB to the Holo for now. I might get a Sonore Ultra Rendu down the road.

I had a chance to listen this evening and it sounded good but I do not have the Holo yet; 4 week build time. So I spun disks using my Oppo.

This is my first experience with BAT equipment and people familiar with it are definitely not kidding about how dynamic the equipment sounds. This is a complete opposite of the Ayre equipment I had previously.

Congrats, I love my BAT VK-51se preamp with its typical BAT house sound. Give it some more time till the caps and tubes burn in after about 150 hours and let us know how it sounds.
