I'm heading to Los Angeles tomorrow for a long weekend of R&R. I'm planning to do a some vinyl "hunting" on Saturday.

Any recommendations for vinyl record stores in LA?

Thx!

LA is record store heaven.

Amoeba is probably the largest store in the country- best for newer vinyl in all genres, but have some used stuff too. Size of a Macys.

Record Surplus in Santa Monica has a large selection of mostly older, used stuff at good prices but some aren't best quality

Quite a few vinyl boutiques have been opened up in Echo Park/Silver Lake (read: hipster) areas...Origami, Wombleton, etc. Once it cools down, intend to visit a couple of them. I've heard they are more curated collections and charge a premium.

Yes- Amoeba in Hollywood and Record Surplus in Santa Monica are musts!
Rockaway Records in Silver Lake often has interesting items, including sealed LPs. Also, Atomic Records in Burbank.

Another vote for Amoeba! It's opened late too (10pm I think), so it's great for a quick browse before heading to the hotel.

We are heading over to Amoeba tomorrow. Let's see what "goodies" I'll find there...
