Interesting and great news for some of us. It's been discussed earlier that the way these numbers are collected actually may understate sales by something like 50%. Still a lot less though than d/l music.

Does anyone want to take a stab at whether Amazon carrying vinyl will help sales?

Me too. I am so getting into vinyl again.

Dan-Thanks for the link. I think we will continue to see the sales trend upwards. It has been on an upward trend since 2008 with 2012 and 2013 taking big leaps over previous uptick years. And as Myles said, I don't think we are getting the full picture of actual LPs sold.

If any of you vinyl lovers are into Jazz, Mack Aveune Records has some great LPs:

Catalog - Mack Avenue Records

Head over to the Mack Avenue online store at
www.mackavenue.com this weekend, and get 40% off your entire order! Simply enter the coupon code JAZZGIVING at checkout to receive the discount. Sale pricing is good starting Thanksgiving Day through Monday, December 1.

Kev, judging by what I see you spinning on a daily basis, 2014 will be a banner year for vinyl!;-)

It's not addictive at all Allen :D

Dan thanks for the link, will definitely have a look.

It was tough in the mid to late 90's with every major record company trying to get rid of LP's. I never stopped buying LP's but even I am surprised with the upsurge in demand.

I remember LP buyers used to cop crap from every digital fan boi re having a turntable, now I am called a turntable elitist in some sectors - not this fine forum thou.

Amazing how things have turned around :yahoo1:

share the love
