There is no point in buying CDs anymore, is there?
Strange as it might seem, there is still a lot of music being released where CD is the best quality sound (i.e., the only alternatives are MP3/MP4) and it's not on Tidal
Well, while it might be difficult to consider one week's sales in one country during the x-mas shopping period being proof for the change of an industry, it looks like more people are buying vinyl again.
That said, on a personal level my purchasing habits have also changed from buying CDs to rip them and pile them in boxes in the basement five years ago, to mostly buying vinyl nowadays, along with some DSD downloads at the ratio of maybe 10:1, and streaming the rest off Tidal's Hi-Fi subscription service.
There is no point in buying CDs anymore, is there?
