Vintage restoration....

I am so excited to have received this today!

I'm going to create content on the restoration of it.

Now to decide when I stripe down the wood do I want to use my BLO/Spar/Turpentine finish or my Pure Tung Oil/Spar/Turpentine finish......

You know the box itself looks pretty cool in it's current condition, but if it were me I'd upgrade/replace the inside components. Either way it looks like a fun project though.

I agree the box looks better in person than I thought.

Definitely going to upgrade internals so it's usable.

Here is a picture of the same model I've currently stripped down and refinished the case on. After several finishes I disliked I found a custom mix of Pure Tung Oil/Turp/Spar Varnish.
