I pretty much have my search down to two subs, and I was wondering if anyone had any input on either. The two subs in question are the JL Audio E110 and the Velodyne Optimum 10. It would be going into a two channel strictly music set up, with KEF R300s as the mains and power by a Peachtree Audio Nova300. Any help is much appreciated...

I am not familiar with those models. But Years ago I used to own velodyne subwoofers and then switched to JL audio. I like the JL much better; they sound better (to my ears) and are built solidly.

Both are good subs. You will probably splitting hairs, but the JL is probably the better of the 2. The Velodyne is nice since it has a remote control. I would also consider a Rhytmik F12se sub which may be better than both of those or at least on par and it will save you some money.

Unless there are certain physical dimensions you are looking to stick with, I would absolute add the SVS SB13-Ultra to your list. It's quite good.
