Vacuum Tube Amps...

What's the difference between regular tube amps and vacuum tube amps? I just noticed Luxman makes amps that they refer to as "vacuum tube amps". Evidently there's a difference between them and regular tube amps?

Same thing. I think it’s just a naming issue.

People use tubes for shorthand but all tube amps use vacuum tubes.

Unless you're in the UK, then they use valves☺

I kind of thought so, but I'm new enough at this that I wasn't sure.

Tubes require a vacuum or they won’t work. Loss of vacuum is a failure mode for tubes.

Tubes, Vacuum Tubes, Valves, Toobs, all mean the same thing... now get into the differences in tubes themselves... that will truly make your head spin.
