I'm getting a Parasound Zphono-USB preamp / digital interface. Besides doing phono pre duty, I also want to use it to make copies of some old vinyl and even cassettes (friends' bands from way back), feeding the signal from the Zphono's USB-out into my Mac and making digital files, probably using Audacity.
Many say USB cables make a big difference when streaming music files into a DAC, but what about the Zphono output to the computer? Do you think the cable quality matters there since it's not the same as a streaming & listening experience? Anyone try different USB cables when ripping analogue sources?
If this has been answered before, please point me to the thread; did some searching but didn't find it. Thanks for any opinions.
