Well I suppose it is just a matter of time before the latest USB 3.1 specification trickles its way into the HiFi industry...
And there's yet another plug. I think the USB-C plug is the best fitting and idiot-proof plug to date. I pray to the USB God and his working committee to futureproof this physical plug form factor by standardising it for all subsequent USB revisions.
Here is Belkin's take on it below. Note the Electronic Marker Identification, authentication, and Power Delivery management circuit.
