Upssampling Music

You have a DAC 8 DSD... kick that puppy up to DSD512

sadly, the dac8 dsd (any many other dacs) only plays dsd256 or dsd512 from sources running a windows OS... i run ROCK on my transport which is linux. apparently the problem is with the firmware for the amanero usb receiver.

Well, it quickly became obvious that my wimpy i3 - 2 core HP I am replacing, is not up to DSD256...

fwiw: in doing research on CPUs for my DIY transport i learned that, for a roon implementation, the optimal chip for heavy DSP processing such as dsd512 upsampling was an i7 with a maximum single core sustained performance. in terms of core number, 4 should be enough as roon uses only one core for DSP unless multi core processing is selected, in which case it uses 2 cores.

Sadly, my 8 core proc is not being fully used, but at least I know that it is dedicating cpu's to Roon. Eventually I might try HQPlayer again. As it is Roon plays flawlessly upsampling all at DSD512...
