Today I got the double pivot kit for the Vpi Prime. Installing was a breeze and took less than 10 minutes, including verification of the tracking force afterwards.
In the picture you can see this small metal piece just left of the drop counterweight adjustment, which is the dual pivot clamp. It fits the tonearm quite snugly and is fastened with a small screw.
On the bottom of the pivot clamp is an allen wrench adjustable screw providing the second pivot point.
In the picture taken from above you can see a high polish metal plate which is attached to the VTA on-the-fly base. This provides the surface for the second pivot to glide on.
This is a small but rather convenient mod for the JWD 3D Memorial tonearm. While I did not have any trouble operating the wobbly single pivot tonearm, this makes its use much nicer. VTA adjustment also became quite a bit more accurate. A clear user benefit is also derived from improved accuracy in placing the needle when picking a certain track on the vinyl.
All in all it is a very good and worthwhile improvement, my congrats and a thank you to Matt for that.
