Does the room warrant the REL’s?

One can never have to much bass.

Same question here: why another sub, as the speakers already have two (two 10” woofers each)? [emoji15]

The customer insisted on it. My advise was it was not necessary. Once dialed in, we shall see. I don’t expect the 212’s to be working too hard. I do have another customer with Avantgarde Duo Mezzo’s and Magico Q-Sub 15’s. He’s very happy with the results. But he has a very large room.
 
IMO, a properly integrated sub is not about the bass, it's about the space...

Also IMO, the great-as-they-are Avantgarde woofers are not subwoofers. A subwoofer implies a woofer working above it.
 
Awesome... what sources does he use? I see the Direct Stream DAC and transport but don't think I can tell his other sources...

My system is certainly not the level to afford Jim coming in for, but I found his book very interesting and certainly learned several good "tips".

Right now the DS DAC/Transport, but it will soon be going bye bye. He will be evaluating a couple of other products that I’ll bring to demo. His CD collection exceeds 15,000. I actually saw them all. Amazing.

Top two contenders he wants to hear are the new two box solution from T+A and the MSB Premier DAC + REF Transport.
