some may have heard of thrax , bulgarian outfit . makes some cracking hi fi

managed to get a demo in my system of the massive thrax enyo valve . beautiful thing with lots of glowing valves . very nicely built , carry crate almost takes 2 to carry its so sorry

lovely remote , big soundstage . have been using with some harbeth shl5 plus and tannoy eatons legacy. the latter are simply incredible speakers . the shimmering sound and clarity . together with thrax its an incredible combo . much better than the harbs . actually i havn`t heard such a good system for a long while

Certainly looks to be a solid piece of kit. Good to know it has the sound quality to back it up as well. The Tannoys look cool too. I had a pair of Kensington’s here on demo some time ago but didn’t get on with them, I get the feeling the new Legacy models might be a different kettle of fish.

yes , very impressed with the eatons . they are smaller than the harbs but kick out more bass and are crisper and more open

I heard Thrax at Axpona a couple years ago, I was really impressed. Their Lyra speaker is the best stand mount I recall ever hearing. Demo depends on timing as with most at shows. While I was there the Lyra went lower than some towers I've heard.

yes i think the dealer had just sold some lyra speakers . so the thrax was a bit too much for the harb shl5plus . it created a bit too much bass in the room and was not well received by audiophile friends . the tannoy however were exceedingly good with the thrax . it would beat some very expensive pre power setups

Did you try to reposition your Harbeths with the Thrax amp?

no , may well have done the trick but i am afraid the harbs are being sold , i could not get on with them . real shame as they look so beautiful !!! i have been spoiled by the utter transparency of the frugal horns and before that the verity audio rienzi
