This is somewhat interesting...Onkyo buys Pioneer

Pioneer, Onkyo to Integrate : Page 1 of 1 : Dealerscope

Not that I care about either one these days, but it's interesting to note in light of what is also happening with D&M Holdings.

The world of simple is taking shape, smart phones handling music duties for the young masses, mobility is the direction that is being concentrated on as the older guard dies off. I know morbid but it's happening all around us.

I tried to give my daughter who loves music my old Kef 140 bookshelfs and a old Denon 2 chl receiver and a Sony ES3100 CD/DVD player that has been collecting dust in boxes she said what for dad, I have my Galaxy S5 and my headphones.. :disbelief:

Don't I know it! It is morbid in my opinion, but it's hard to stop a freight train at full speed with a cotton ball. Personally, they will have to pry my speakers and records and such from my cold dead hands.
The way it sounds like things are going my most recent purchase will be considered vintage and obsolete in about 6 months or something. Makes me feel like my gear I have now will be non-replaceable in the same amount of time. Of course, with most of it that is untrue, but still....
