Two power cords. 268 pounds of pure musical Class A bliss.

When I think of a world class amp, this is it and at $61k compared to some of the prices we see, this seems quite reasonable! LOL.

How is it compared to Luxman M900u monos, Mike? Hey, you know this question is coming. You put them next to each other. LOL

Come on over for a listen!

It’s really too early to tell. Still breaking in.

Is that a integral stand it is sitting on. Whatever it is looks pretty nice.

No, it’s a Raidho left over amp stand. Not kidding. I have two Critical Mass Maxxum amp stands, but I’m saving them for the VAC 200iQ monos I have on order (and VAC Master Pre). I really need another CM Maxxum amp stand, I know.

This amp is just incredible.

This review nails it.

The unreasonable part would be carrying it up stairs!!

Jerry carried it in with my other helper like it was empty. I kept saying “wait, don’t you want the dolly?” Before I could finish it was in the store, out of the flight case and on the stand. Then they packed up the 711 (consignment) and the Colosseum (discontinued) and didn’t even break a sweat. Thank God for young strong backs.

Been listening all morning after having the amp on overnight. Man, this amp is INCREDIBLE! I would say it’s quite easily the best amp we’ve ever had in the store. Far better than the dry Swiss amps. And doesn’t get shrill at all when pushed like some other Euro amps.

Congratulations Mike. That amp seems quite impressive. I think you once had the Pass XS monos. Would you share your initial impressions about how the Gryphon compares to the Pass?

Well, I would trade in my "dry Swiss amp", but I'm pretty sure I could only afford one power cord.

Plus, it weighs more than my wife and I put together.

Although, to be fair, I don't think she's been on the scale lately.

LOL. Wasn’t speaking of your Swiss amps. [emoji41]

Both are excellent. I love the green bias of the Gryphon. Listening low, it’s in low bias and no heat really. Listening modest, it’s in medium bias. Listening loud, it’s in high bias and kicking ass.
