The use of "Network " cables in Magico and Wilson factory listening rooms

I'll admit I was always and still continue to be skeptical of these cables. However I know many swear by them.

The most recent magico and Wilson pictures I've seen show them using mit and transparent in their respective flagship listening rooms.

Perhaps I should now have an open mind and consider demoing such cables in my system.

anyone else have a skeptical mindset of transparent or mit ? To only demo them and have your mind changed ?

We debated this meaningless vintage photo in another forum three years ago. I think it will not be of any help to answer the OP. For more information please just google the following sentence " This incorrect and misleading information has been shown ad nausea in every anti cable thread." :rolleyes:

To summarize - a Transparent Audio cable is much more than a cable with a network. Transparent cables become part of a system, and should be used with expertise. They are not miraculous or unique, but if they match your system they can make it shine and bring life to your listening time.

BTW, Rockport also uses Transparent Audio cables.

Well stated. If they were so terrible why do these respective speaker manufactures use them .. surely they could afford to cable up thier demo rooms with a competitor but don't.

I understand shows we have a lot of companies split the cost of a room to have a mix of products. But in the speaker manufacturers own factory listening room they must trust mit and transparent

Maybe they use because the cables are given to the speaker company as a way to promote a Marketing partnership.

Perhaps the speaker company purchases the cable to use in every speaker they produce.

Perhaps as with electronics, turntables, digital, etc the speaker company purchases equipment for use in development as well as for demonstration.
 
I was one who really didn't want to believe cables made a difference. Then I compared a few. Then I wanted to believe a cable with a network was just hocus-pocus, and the image shown above only made me more skeptical. Then I auditioned several new cables by way of the Cable Company and my dealer. The Transparent cables were clear winners for me, in my system. Now I don't care if a cable has a network or not—I only care if it makes my system better.

I hate cables. Just another place in this crazy hobby to chase the dragon. But damn if they don't make a difference. Even my wife heard the difference immediately. She hates cables too, for the effect they have on our bank account.
 
I only have one MIT power cord and it worked very well where I put it.

I've used Transparent and have done comparisons, it works very well. Seems to me Transparent's strong area is tight detailed bass reproduction. I haven't used much very far up the chain, mostly first few levels. Transparent seems to be more embraced by solid state manufacturers.

Transparent has an explanation of what the circuits do. In short, it's to neutralize the antenna effect of the particular length of cable.

At this point my practice on cables is to trust my ears. All the companies have their approach. I was nearly laughed off another forum because I discussed eddy currents, not that well known at the time, now mentioned by cable companies quite a bit. Some discuss effects of dielectric, some are into metalergie, many are into types of strands etc. At the end of the day, does it work and how does it sound.

Isn't Transparent used for internal hookup wiring inside the speakers that you own as well?

When I owned Wilsons the internal cabling was MIT( +Puppy tails /etc) Transparent was in my Rockports.

Both excellent speakers

This is correct. All Wilson loudspeakers use Transparent raw cable inside. Choice of cable level is based on application and each run is custom twisted based on where it is used in a given speaker. The cabling application chart in the Wilson factory is one of two places we do not allow photographs.
