Muraudio is a Canadian company located in Ottawa, the country's capital. With large financial backing and solid engineering, their first product is an Omni directional Electrostatic Hybrid speaker, available both in passive and active versions. Unlike electrostatic panels from Martin Logan, Muraudio panels are curved horizontally AND vertically. Crossover elements are of the best quality, with the crossover point at 450 Hz. 3 custom made aluminum drivers are installed in a way so that cabinet vibrations are minimized. Low frequency is spec'ed at 30Hz, -3dB, Anechoic. In room, it should go lower.
We installed them last night before closing up, so I haven't heard them much yet, but first impressions are very positive. The wide, deep soundstage is reminiscent of the MBL 101 which I owned. Bass is deep, powerful, effortless but not overbearing, blending well with the panels. I don't hear any obvious discontinuity. Clarity, speed and detail of the panels are very much like the CLX and CLS, both of which I have owned/own, but without the dynamic limitations. The rest of the system comprises the new Wadia m330 music server, McIntosh C2500 preamp and the Wadia m400 monoblocks.
So far, me likey. Very much :exciting:
