So I took delivery today of the McIntosh C1000P pre-amp which will complete my C1000 trio.

My dealer tells me that I am the last new C1000 customer forever. There is no more, the C1000 trio is now discontinued and my timing was impeccable.

Will unbox and rack this weekend. I will shift my current Siltech Royal Signature onto it and start to run it in with HT passthru while some more new Royal Signature goes onto the cable burner.

Steve.......Congratulations on your new C1000P. It is a wonderful preamplifier.

I had both the C1000T and C1000P, each with their own C1000C controllers in two separate systems. I moved the solid state and tube preamps between the two systems several times, and one time I had them both connected to a single C1000C controller in the living room system for a reveiw. Both preamplifiers are fabulous but I discovered the moving coil phono stage in the C1000P solid state preamplifier was considerable quieter and more dynamic than the moving coil phono stage in the C1000T tube preamplifier. Beyond that primary difference I found more similarities than dissimilarities in the two preamps. Long story short I decided to sell the C1000C/T preamp because I needed an additional rack space in my living room system. I purchased another C2300 to replace the C1000T. No regrets. I kept the C1000C/P in the studio system and I still enjoy it daily. The C1000T has the bling factor of the tube window that many people seem to love. I did too, but eventually grew tired of continuously looking at it. I even turn off the C1000P meter lights and MC2301 meter lights most of the time.

Looking forward to reading your impressions of the C1000P once it is fully broken in. Happy listening.

Congratulations Steve. The C-1000P is the fitting Cherry Topping for a all McIntosh system. Mine serviced me well.

Congrats Steve.

Hoping there would be a solid state module for the C1100T, I bought the C52. I absolutely love it. I will not hold my breath for another SS fully balanced preamp from McIntosh, but if it happens, I will be ready.

You really lucked out. Enjoy.

Thank you all.

For several years now, as a loyal customer, I have done my best to be enthusiastic, constructive and critically positive about the McIntosh brand at home, during our travels, online at various audio forums, and in this part of the world.

In the beginning it was a leap of faith. In the end, it doesn't matter who and where the customer is and what their spend is, each and every customer deserves to be treated with white gloves...

OK Steve, it has been 4 days since you took ownership of that new C1000P. Time for some pictures and comments on how wonderful that new preamp sounds. Do you like the P or the T better? :dancered:
