This is the best headphone system I've ever heard. Period. I've heard the best from Audeze, HiFi Man, etc. This system is considerably better.

I thought the same thing, but once I heard the combo, it was a no brainer. It took the guess work out of the "which DAC/headphone amp should I use" question.

It's kind of interesting to read those comments Chris. I've heard all the latest and greatest Hi-Fi Man, Audeze, etc. but I really liked these. I'll give them another listen at Axpona to be sure and look forward to others comments.

So ticked I missed this room at RMAF - I was even invited in, but heading downstairs to meet someone. Heard many folks say it was the best rig at the show.

I see your point, but some might like the flexibility of adding their own DAC and headphone amp as this pairing by Sonoma must be played together. I sure would like to hear it though.
 
I talked to these guys at RMAF about the possibilities of making a different amp or DAC that was compatible with their headphones. They said it would be theoretically possible in the future, you would just need to buy or license the software from Sonoma and implement it in your own equipment. It didn't seem like something they planned to do, but if the headphones are successful, who knows.

Mike,

Are you going to make a unit available for in home demos? This system caught my attention.

Also when are they going to be available.

Right now my headphone rig consists of a T&A DSD DAC which I am upsampling to DSD512 with HQPlayer into my Cavalli Liquid Gold to HD800s which I love. Not really ready to part with it since I haven't heard anything I like better, "as yet", but the Sonoma did catch my eye.

Liquid Gold is awesome. I have heard many headphone systems and I haven't heard one I like better than what I am using now. But that Sonoma Acoustics did catch my eye and would love to compare it to my current rig. I am not married to any piece of equipment if something sounds better. What I have now just works.
