Talking to the fine folks at Schiit about my sound problem on my PC..still not sure of an answer

Alright, so I've been wanting to get a Schiit product for some time, let's face it, it's partly due to the name and the fun one could have with it, but it's also the fact that it isn't Chinese and seems well made. Also reading up on the products they don't take themselves too serious except when it comes to producing product.
Two issues I have with my PC that I use for Re-EQuing/mixing and such.
1) Internal soundcard noise = good quality card (OmegaStriker 7), but for the past year I'm getting noise interference. It sounds like the harddrive cycling or fans spinning up maybe from what I can tell. Seating of card is snug and proper.
2) Excellent near-field speakers (KRK RG6), but I have tor eally crank the gain to get listening level (not loud) sound from them hooked direct to soundcard.
So I’m looking at their stuff and thinking maybe an outboard DAC would solve the noise issue, but what about the volume? Then I’m thinking perhaps the Asgard 2 amp would solve both?
So I spoke with them about it and they suggest the Modi and the Asgard together. I kind of wanted a one box solution. I don’t need an outboard DAC for anything but the PC, so that may be a waste. If I wanted to get an outboard DAC I’d like it to be useful for many things (such as my nexus 7), but the Modi is not. It’s PC only.
Then I’m reading how they build their amps and while I’m no engineer I’m thinking perhaps the Asgard would solve both issues, but then I’m also thinking: “well, it’s just an amp and if I hook it to the soundcard and then the speakers to it (the only way it can be done) I may just end up making the internal noise louder”?
The good folks over at Schiit aren’t sure either and stated the only way to really know is to hook it up and find out.
With the Modi (one trick pony) and Asgard combo it’s $350 which is a bit too expensive of a solution with heavy diminishing returns on the Modi. Now I’m thinking that an outboard DAC will not solve the noise problem and an outboard soundcard would. Unfortunately, almost all soundcards have lousy DACs and it won’t solve the volume/gain issue.
So I’m thinking should I try the Asgard itself with the risk of finding out that I need a DAC and/or external soundcard? The only known is that the Asgard would solve the volume/gain issue.
Anyone here have experienced opinions of Schiit products?

The rep at Schiit just brought up an interesting point: If the noise is in the active signal than the Asgard2 would take care of everything. If the noise is in the ground, then it would not work for that. Now I wonder how to tell if the noise is in the active signal or ground?

It might be worth it just to try it/them out in your system to find out what will work for you. They have a 15-day satisfaction guarantee with a small restocking charge. If they don't work out for you it'll cost you 2 bucks a day.

I've been impressed by the great press they've gotten since launching their products. I know reviews should be taken with a grain of salt, but it's food for thought.

Well that would be nice, but I can't afford to waste money and play games trying things. I prefer to know before I buy. I don't do trial periods or stuff like that. I guess I need to know what tools I need to figure out if the noise is in the active signal or in the ground. Then I need to find someone who knows how to use them I guess.
