Tagging - specifically, multi-tags

Poked around some but couldn't find a direct answer.

What is the correct way/way Lumin understands to create a tag with multiple entries, eg Artist(s) or Genre(s)? I wasn't sure what separation to use, but it seems that ; does not do the trick.

Thanks Peter. That appears to be a Minimserver configuration, and I primarily use the L1 to serve my local music collection. I did see in there that the default separator is a comma followed by a space, is this how the X1 will interpret tags on music sent by the L1 as well? I'm about to reload my music collection so can try it in any case.

multi tag does not require delimiter, because there are multiple tags, not delimited items in a single tag.

Goal example: Genre tag = "Blues" <and also> "Acoustic". So that a search in genre for either Blues or Acoustic, would find that song.

So something like: Genre = Blues,Acoustic. Or Genre = Blues, Acoustic, or = Blues\Acoustic etc

You might want to explore specialty software like MP3TAG. This free software allows you to access and change the metadata of the albums in your own library. Good software and it is free.

You will need to reset the L1 database (described in another thread) if you change tags without adding albums

Yes, that's what I've used to tag my music for many years, it's great. What I'm not sure of is how to enter the tag in the field for Genre or Artist, so you can have it find that song on any one of multiple entries. So a song can be tagged with genre of Blues and also Acoustic, separately. Or Friday Night in San Francisco can be tagged with Al D, Paco, and John M independently and not "Al and Paco and John". Hope that makes sense.

Since there is only a single field for Genre or Artist, multiple entries into that text box will need to be separated by some delimiter, like a comma or a slash or a semi-colon. I'm just not sure what works with Lumin app.

An alternative means of adding multitag is to bring up the Extended Tags window of Mp3Tag, then manually another duplicate field of GENRE (or ARTIST , etc.)
