Not too much talk about T+A other than their DAC 8 DSD and some high praise lavished upon the new PA 3100 HV integrated amp and matching HV series sources.

Here's the T+A PA 2500 R from their R series, which is one step below their top HV series. 140W into 8, 280W into 4 and 560W into 2. So, definitely a healthy amount of power on tap. Very dynamic as well. It is brand new, so will need some considerable break in time. First impression is very positive. Fantastic build quality as well.

I know Mike is a T+A dealer as well, but I don't think the brand gets enough love in North America. Here are some pictures of the unit itself and in my system being fed by a Melco N1A/2 into the T+A DAC 8 DSD going to the PA 2500 R which are driving ATC SCM40.

It looks great! You can't appreciate the build quality until you see a piece in person.

I agree, T+A doesn't get the recognition it deserves here. I've been waiving the T+A flag for years (ever since I first heard the MP3000HV and bought the PDP3000HV).

Here's some pics of a T+A system I put together last month for a client. He's VERY happy.

Those HV series components are absolutely beautiful Mike! I'm sure your customer is thrilled. I totally agree with you about the build quality. While the R series doesn't have the unbelievable build quality of the HV series, you can probably even tell in my pictures that the R series has impeccable build quality as well.

Neil Gader just did a review for the Absolute Sound and was obviously incredibly impressed. "ThePA 2500 R delivered big, high-intensity wattage that never seemed to waver inresponsiveness and extension regardless of the loads it faced…the PA 2500 R and MP 2000 R exceeded myexpectations by a wide margin."

That's a great system! The DAC8 DSD is a killer piece for the money.

Thanks Mike! The ATC SCM40's definitely like a good amount of power behind them and the T+A PA 2500 R seems to be doing a fantastic job so far. You're absolutely right as well about the DAC 8 DSD. Killer for the money! I actually have a good customer using a DAC 8 DSD directly into a pair of ATC SCM40A Active speakers. This combination is just so simple and sounds incredible.

Those ATC's are so musical. Very underrated.

It does Dan. I thought long and hard about carrying HRS, but after speaking with several manufacturers who have used both HRS and Artesania, the consensus was overwhelmingly in favor of Artesania. But I do really like HRS too. Gorgeous stuff.

I've heard the HV series and R series extensively.
The HV series must be amongst the best SS amps available nowadays.
The R series offer terrific value.
The R sources are amazing for their price.

Thanks bart, it's good to hear from someone with extensive experience with both the HV and R series. So far, this PA 2500 R is sounding great!

Quick question for someone, maybe Mike or bart. I can ask T+A as well. There's a considerable price difference between the MP 2000 R MKII Multi Source Player and the new MP 2500 R SACD Multi Source Player. The 2000 R can play CD's whereas the 2500 R can play SACD's in addition to all their other capabilities. The SACD drive in the 2500 R is supposed to be the same as in the MP 3100 HV. So, aside from the CD versus SACD playback, is the 2500 R better for other functions (DAC, streaming, etc)? The MP 2500 R uses the same double high chassis of the PA 2500 R integrated versus the small chassis on the 2000 R. In Canada, the retail on the MP 2500 R is 42% higher than the MP 2000 R MKII. So, just wondering if there are other differences. I do see a higher Signal to Noise ratio on the MP 2500 R, but everything else seems the same spec-wise.

I haven't heard the 2500 yet.
But I did hear the 2000.
It is a terrific piece of kit.
In "Stereoplay", a decent German magazine, it gets higher points (they work with points for every device) than for example the Burmester 069. Both are German brands, and sponsors, so (probably) quite truthful.

Mike what's the US pricing on the R2500 series integrated amp and CD/SACD player? Just curious.

Just to clarify, in the US it, is $11,500 for the PA 2500 R integrated amp and $13,000 for the MP 2500 R SACD Multi Source Player.

Sorry, just noticed my typo. Corrected.
