surround speakers cable

I believe mine are Ultralink (14 AWG) - very inexpensive. ...Flat speaker wires, less visible where you don't want to see them.

Esoteric, Canare, ... (12-14 AWG) ...OFHC (6Ns or so) - inexpensive too.

* Any of them: less than $100 for 100 feet.

Or are you looking for something more "high-end" Barry?

I think I'm after as good as I can sonic correct. Not mental though. So for example if $250 or$500 were that much better I would look at it. I would not want to above $1000.00 and at that price it would have to be very special.
All wires will be in a conduit in the walls.

I'm sure other members will have some more suggestions.

* There is also Blue Jeans Cable - they have several of them. ...Different gauge, length, termination connectors, shielding, etc.
=> http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/speaker/index.htm

For runs of 25 feet, 14 AWG is sufficient. Canare would do (I like their wires; interconnects, video, speakers, digital, ...).
Then just decide if you want them terminated, or you can terminate them yourself with your choice of connectors.

The KK 4TC Paul is a little bit more expensive though. ...And more fragile too for surround speakers duty. ...Depending where you put them (the cables). ...The 4TC isn't it something like $12 a foot or so? ...And then you also need 16 quality speaker connectors.
The 4VS and 4PR, I don't know how much per foot.

But here's roughly what my mag is saying here:

- An 8ft pair of KK 4TC (terminated with WBT bananas or spades) is roughly $220 US. [The 8TC is double of that: about $25/foot]
- An 8ft pair of KK 4VS (terminated with single bananas) is roughly $150 US.
- An 8ft pair of KK 4PR (terminated with single bananas) is roughly $120 US.

So from that you can have an approximation of the cost per foot (connectors included).

_________

MSRP (a foot, and terminated):

* 8TC = $27.50/foot US.
* 4TC = $13.75/foot US.
* 4VS = $9.50/foot US.
* 4PR = $7.50/foot US.

Now multiply anyone by 100. :)

Me I love the 8TC and 4TC (I use quite a bit of them in some of my own systems - HT front is all 8TC), and I was using the 4TC for my surrounds, but to go under a carpet they are simply too fragile. And! They are still expensive for Brian. ...Hundred feet (with termination connectors) is over $1,000 US.

<<>> Check your local audio dealers Barry, and see what they got. ...Perhaps they have some good deals.
...Audioquest, WireWorld, UltraLink, KimberKable, Esoteric, Canare, ...
If not, check that Blue Jeans Cable link from my above post.

If I remember correctly I paid $6 a foot and I bought 28 feet. The 4VR was like $4 a foot. bUT it was like 9 yrs ago. I'm sure he can buy as bundle deal.

Barry If you are interested check with Raymond at the East View. He sells them as uncut cable.

I currently use 4TC. bought quite some time ago. Have to see how much it is these days.
That likely is the top end.

Yes, exactly, nine years ago. And yes, he can get a better deal; all relative to who he's dealing with.

Here's something to look at. :)

Hi BOB
If it is way up there then it maybe out of the budget.Although the 4TC would be pretty nice. Have you heard the Beldon 5000 or the Blue Jeans Cable?

And here: Audiolab Stereo and Home Theater... Since 1958

And no, but I've heard of them from owners (speaker cables, interconnects from Blue Jeans Cable), and I use some Canare cables myself in two systems including my main, and Canare is recommended by good audio people for excellent value and performance - J. Gordon Holt (audio engineer and the founder of Stereophile magazine) was using some Canare cables himself as well.
