My wife and I will be celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary next May and have booked the best room available at the Residence Inn Downtown/Waterfront.

We have never been to Maine at all but have a short list of things to do so far, and looking for first hand suggestions.
So far we will be booking one of the Brew Tours with a Lunch and four Breweries, Lunch in Kennybunkport on our Anniversary day, a few interesting restaurants and as many brewpubs as I can crawl to. We also plan to hit LL Bean.

We know there is much more north of Portland and are already planning a second trip to Arcadia and northern coast area, but what can you tell me is cool in and around Portland?

Thanks for any tips and suggestions!

May is still going to be a bit chilly up there. In fact, it might be wet and chilly and the start of fly season. You might want to look into that.

I'm not really versed about Portland, more in the interior lakes region @Mooselookmeguntic (have fun pronouncing that) and Rangeley.

Gorgeous Gelato is great; I bought the t-shirt.
My wife said her lobster roll from Eventide was the best ever.
Central Provisions is a few steps above typical pub fare.
Bull Moose Records is definitely worth a visit.
And slightly outside of the old port area is the very worthwhile Portland Art Museum.
Have fun!

I have seen pictures of the Lobster Roll sandwiches with pretty much a whole shelled Lobster on it as well as the stories of the Gulls swooping down to steal them.

Thanks for tips so far and keep them coming.

Nobody sent Condolences for keeping it up for 30 years, and 7 years dating prior to that :)
