Stenheim, the Swiss HighEnd loudspeaker manufacturer, has opened its first listening room at its headquarters in Vétroz in the Rhône Valley, not far from Montreux, renowned internationally for its music festival .
Situated in the middle of a vineyard with views over the Alps, the room aims to immerse the listener in a sound experience which matches the visual experience of the location. The auditorium is dedicated to bringing music alive in all its richness and diversity with the accent firmly laid on the sensual pleasure of concert comparable listening conditions rather than technology.
The room was inaugurated on the 11th December to a delighted and enthusiastic company of invited journalists and hifi aficionados. It was also the first time that they have had the chance to hear Stenheim’s top of the range REFERENCE speakers.

Although they have been already presented to exhibition visitors in Hong Kong, Munich and Norway, the REFERENCE speakers are entirely new to Swiss consumers. They represent the pinnacle of the company’s savoir-faire.Combining carefullydesigned and pure lines, they have been crafted with the simple and singular objective: to push the boundaries of sound reproduction to the utmost.

They are exceptionally musical speakers, creating a superbly natural, threedimensional sound stage. Their dynamic performance makes them suitable for all forms of music, able to recreate the deepest bass and the highest treble notes. The Reference is also distinct in its exceptional easeofuse, thanks to remote operation of the MTM couple (medium tweeter) diffusion angle.

Norman,
Were you in attendance for this?
Would be interested to know what electronics were used. I see CH in the photo but don't see Nagra.
Those reference speakers are out of my league. The smaller alumine 3-way i have heard and was very impressed in a small to medium sized room.
Chris

No Tunes,

I was not there. Invited, yes, BUT I could not make it. JP will accomodate me at another tiime, i am sure and I will help him a bit with his Montreux show.

I will let you know when I hear it. JPP is a real pal, so I am sure he will let me have an opportunity before long.

Wisnon, I am very curious about how the Reference sounds. I have a set of Alumine (just monitors) that I use in a second high efficiency system. Very musical speakers!

Yes, I heard the Allumine at CH's HQ in the demo room and really, really liked them. I was not sure that I would beforehand...so no expectation bias there.
