Spotify Hit With Two Lawsuits Claiming "Staggering" Copyright Infringement

On one hand it sounds like Spotify takes measures to find those who should be paid but on the other hand I don't see any claims against other music streamers, not to say there aren't any. Surely,no one would try to take advantage with a frivolous suit :)

I did read something about the industry giving YouTube grief. But they are protected some by a law taking some of the responsibility away because YouTube themselves don't post what's on there. YT does pay royalties but the complaint is they pay much less then other music services. I don't stream from YT, it's a tool for me to preview artists before I buy the album. A 30 second snip just don't cut it, as offered by the online retailers.

Coincidentally, I recently downloaded Spotify for the first time, I find it difficult to navigate. It shows a list name for instance but t don't say what type of music it is, I have to engage it to see. I know it's new to me but I like Pandora better, and Amazon. Although Amazon rubbed me the wrong way when it gave a pop-up advising the artist I searched is on their extra money service. Like they are trying to force me to upgrade. It seems Amazon Prime is being used as a tool to prompt customers to buy other services.

An area of Spotify I haven't explored yet are the Podcasts and videos.
