I really love this new album from Mdou Moctar, called Ilana. When I read about him living in Miger where music was basically band, he made a homemade guitar and his talent projected him via playing weddings and cellphone sharing. It's like it was meant to happen. His record company eventually sent him a left handed Fender guitar. Just a cool sound with just as cool story of hopefully further success. Niger is mostly Sahara Desert and one of the lowest developed countries in Africa, located in West Africa.
