Waiting for my new custom PC to build my new music server I needed a fix (been listening to portable through the Audeze LCD-i4). So I decided to spin a few SACDs with the Oppo. I rarely spin discs preserving the Oppo for one special purpose.
The Oppo sounds very good, but I hear an obvious difference from the server. Maybe it is the over sampling to DSD512, at least as likely the T+A DAC... the Oppo's ESS 9018 is solid but not close to the T+A's custom built 1-bit converter.
But at least it is giving a small fix
