Spock posted about a speaker stand he made. That is about the only componant I have not played with what or how it is sat on the floor. I do all the mo e in and out to llock bass, the toe for imaging etc. Has anyone else tried or DIY a platform or isolation device, spike etc they found to work well.

FYI, I use open baffle speakers. I have medium density wood floors on top of 1 1/4" Subfloor on top of wood Ibeams with insulation inbeteeen.
 
I use Granite Slabs between the spikes and floor under my Dynaudio 82s. It started with an old pair of Mirage 907s that had mushy bass. I had a few pcs of Slate around ant tried them out on a whim. Big improvement in my room. So I set out to find nice slabs of Granite. I have them under the Dyns, between rubber and JM Labs speakers on shelf, and under my Amps on the rack.

You can find FREEBIE Granite Slabs at your local granite countertop sells and installation store. They cut to fit at a residence and whats left over its just scrap.

From my experience (i would say almost 20 years searching hard for the holy graal), i think the way the speakers contact with the floor is one of the most important point to achieve an high end performance. In my humble opinion, forget acoustic treatment, forget even the placement of the speakers if you miss the link with the floor.
 
I want the seismograph. Spock you need to load it in your phone or iPad and see how well your speaker stands are decoupling. I should probably consider the same for my amps.

I have it on my phone and I can lay my phone on my TT next to my arm, place a record on the mat, start it listen to music and jump on the concrete floor all I want and the needle it straight and true on the app and the music never misses a note.. The only thing under my rack is Hebbies sq dots. My total rack is solid maple with 3" of thick maple under my TT.
 
I was wondering about the banging on concrete bit. I could see a pan deck vibrating. Not a slab on grade. What app did you get. There seem to be quite a few.

I want it to check the vibration at my amps, server, preamp etc. The speakers as open baffle vibrate with such force I don't know how much the floor is influencing it. Its just a board with (2) 10" drivers. Soon to be (2) 15 " drivers. I did remote mount the crossover due to the vibration and that brough a bit of calm to the play.
