Just a simple idea, what is wrong with coupling your smartphone directly to an external DAC? Why invest in an extra computer/laptop/NAS cables, network switch, while you can directly get cellular internet to your smartphone? ok, you need at least a high amount of data bundle especially for 192kHZ 24 bit but MQA costs a bit less data?
Just tried it and the first impression: it does sound great.

Why not use cellular data instead of all of the home network stuff?

How are you transferring the data to your DAC? Airplay? BT? Other?

a lightning to USB camera adapter. Apple allows only this cable, but an android device with a simple android version made by some audio designer maybe an option. Was wondering why doing difficult with all kind of expensive computers and wires.

While it’s an option, it is limiting in build quality - power supplies, clocks and the construction itself aside from higher end cables to interconnect and power.

I personally think that the important thing is that you are feeding bit-perfect data to your DAC. I am not sure if you can do that with your phone though. For example, I read elsewhere that Airplay does not go beyond CD quality. So if you have a higher resolution recording, then your phone/tablet will have to down-sample the file to CD quality to play via Airplay. Bluetooth is even lower than CD quality from what I have read.

In any event, in my experience, you don’t need fancy network switches or expensive digital cables/interconnects to be able to feed bit-perfect data to your DAC. To me, all that is relic thinking from the analog days when analog signals (instead of digital) were being transmitted.

All this is relic from the days people didn't know any better that digital is more than 1's & 0's
