Chad Kassem of Acoustic Sounds and Analog Productions has taken on the passion of tape for us crazy tape guys. His label is contracting and getting permission to make copies of the master tapes. These are very limited runs (usually about 15 copies max).

Hi Mike, I just purchased a J Corder upgraded 1520 Technics RtoR. Have the sources for quality Pre-Recorded tapes grown or shrunk. There does not seem to be many hanging in at this tome as there seemed to be last year or the year before. Any recommendations? How about sources for buying and trading used Pre-Recorded tapes?
I’ve been a tape guy since the early to mid seventies when with my first stereo system so purchased a Reel to Reel. Was in the Navy and hi end electronics purchased through the P X was affordable.

Congrats!! Which EQ did you get it set for? Did he wire the heads to external outputs for future external tape pre?

I purchased it from someone who a couple years ago had it done by Jeff. The EQ was set for ATR tapes I believe. Don’t know about Prewire. It was his $7,700 package.
Thanks for the list. Seems like a nice option of resources.
I plan to do needle drops of my best albums.
