was looking at, Solid Tech Rack of Silence 3, looking for feedback.

are they good racks, and do they perform well, and how's the isolation.

was looking at buying one, any feedback would be great.

any other suggestions, in that price range, that are better (will mount a TT)

Cheers

What is the price range? I have a 4 shelf (1 4", 3 2") Mapleshade Samson v.3 rack for about $3k. The shelves are solid maple, and it weighs around 500 pounds without gear, and 800 with gear. This rack eliminated any previous rack vibrations, and truly is a rack of silence.

Thanks

the Solid tech ROS 3 is like $2K, was looking at a standard 3 level

checking if anyone, has experience with the Solid Tech racks.

Cheers

You might want to check out Adona

for slightly cheaper racks (made in USA) with similar design principles and excellent construction quality. There are many testimonials on audiophile Web sites about these racks.

I've owned a Solid Tech ROS Ref 4 rack since 2009. I added Ultrasonic Acrylic shelves 2011 to provide more mass and stability.

Rather than placing resonance control devices under each piece of equipment, I've supported the entire rack with Nordost Ti Pulsar Points.

I don't own a turntable but think it may be a bit small for many turntables.

IMO it provides very good resonance control. I heard a marked improvement in dynamics and articulation when I initially installed my auxiliary equipment on it.

IMO it's a very good rack for the money.

Sharkmouth,

thanks, did you try the rack with a Turntable, you sad better sound improvement (fuller sound/soundstage/ etc... ?)

No didn't have a turntable on it, but compared to the pine entertainment centre that it replaced it was a step up in coherency & speed of presentation. Granted, the springs need to suffice for the weight, they are changeable & it wont repair the bad effects of unstable ground/footings of a dwelling. In saying this though, I now have SGR Audio racks, like the looks & better isolation/performance

For what it is worth, I owned a SolidTech ROS 3 (Reference version) for a couple of months and promptly sold it on. It did not come close to meeting my performance expectations - a point that was rather underlined by its replacement a significantly cheaper Steve Blinn Designs (USA) rack with solid maple shelves and upgraded with Nordost Ti Pulsar point footers for mechanical earthing.

The ROS rack was highly unstable. Its spring mechanisms quake (begin oscillating) easily, triggered even by close proximity footfall or large vehicle movement outside of the house. My advanced compact disc player and sensitive tube pre-amplifier hated being shaken and not surprisingly rewarded me with reproduction which was well below their respective capabilities.

I urge you to keep shopping.

Hmmmmmm ...very interesting....my experience has been totally 100% opposite.....excellent stability and beyond amazing isolation! I can easily walk or run by my ROS 4 and no issues in the least......

Timbernation also has some fine looking stands. I am lusting over his three shelf tiger maple stand. It looks almost too good to cover with components!
