Small Bathroom System

Seriously, these little Sonos speakers are pretty cool. They sound darn good for their size. Perfect for a small bathroom. And streaming is better than messing with CDs...for me anyway. I'm streaming Qobuz and Tidal right now. Sounds great. Any recommendations for additional high quality streaming sources on the Sonos system?

Or two of them for stereo.

Thanks Joe! You came through again for me!

You are very welcome Tom. I think you are pretty much limited to CD quality on the streams. I use a couple of Play 5s in addition to Wyred 4 Sound modified Sonos connect units. Even my modified ones, while upsampling to 24/96 can only handle 16/44.1 and upsample it. Sounds awesome though.

Either pick high quality streams or create a network share from your own music accessible to your Sonos. That way you’ll have CD quality music.

Joe, I've ripped my entire CD collection to WAV on iTunes. Is there a way to play them on Sonos? Is there an iTunes Android app? Apple Music, maybe? I'm kind of new to this stuff.

We are using the Devialet Phantom Reactor for a bathroom setup. It's small, just requires a power plug, and is easy to use with AirPlay.

Hi Tom,

I’ll see if I can post a few screen shots of where the network share gets added to your Sonos app. As long as your music is already on a NAS or shared drive on the same network, it’ll be easy.

Blue Tooth and WiFi. Streaming Qobuz and Tidal right now. The Sonos pretty much does it all. Very simple to operate.

if you are using Bluetooth to send your music to Sonos then you are not taking advantage of the higher resolution that Qobuz and Tidal can offer. Both Qobuz and Tidal offer CD or higher resolution. But Bluetooth does not go as high as CD quality.
if you have Roon, you can use your Sonos as a Roon-endpoint and send the highest resolution available to your Sonos via the Roon app.
Also, you might want to check if Sonos can connect to Tidal or Qobuz directly (within the Sonos app).
if you are not sure which way if you are using Bluetooth or WiFi then turn Bluetooth off on your phone and see if you can still play music through the Sonos.

It does. It's in the Sonos app.

In that case, you are connecting via WiFi directly and you have the best connection available. [emoji106]
