Hi folks, Happy New Year. Pardon my ignorance,I'm getting a slight humming sound from my Rogers tube amp. It's not coming through the speakers, but from the unit itself. It gets louder as the unit warms up. I've never noticed it before. What could it be???

If it is coming from the amp itself, it may be the transformers. Small amounts of DC voltage may be the culprit. There are various products that can help, one of which is called the Humbuster. Of course, this is just one possible reason for the amp to hum.

DC offset on your power line is the most probable if it's a toroid... check that first. Some trafos just hum a bit, but this should be really minor. If you have no dc offset I'd consider replacing the trafo.

I believe they use Plitron toroids.

Hold your breath see if the humming goes away it will if you hold it long enough :D
