my second system is a Denon AVR X3100. with NHT speakers. I originally bought this for my 5.1 tv, but I find that I listen to Spotify, Pandora et al almost every day. I can send the music throughout the house, to the deck outside, and to the pool. Its very easy to control through an app on my IPod Touch.

Good point on sending music through the house, and what tech makes it easy. I don't think of my speakers in the ceiling or outside as second system but I should - it has taken as much work to get that right and simplified since pivotal moments call for the music (eg friends are over). Spotify with receivers that have it (and AirPlay and Bluetooth) built in are very convenient. I have two onkyo ht receivers in our family room. One controls downstairs HT with a second zone running speakers in the ceiling throughout house (with volume sliders)... I am sure I am over taxing that zone 2 amp. And the other receiver runs the outdoor TV and sets of speakers in backyard. I always forget what inputs are what so I stick a chrome cast dongle into the hdmi and call it a day.

My main system is Revel Salon2's and BAT electronics.

Not sure what would count as my second system. The one that probably gets the second most use is my office system at work which is a Peachtree iced and Harbeth P3ESR's. My home theater is Dali Epicon's and Marantz/NAD/Oppo electronics, but that is really just movies and games, no music really. My Bedroom system is Raidho S2's driven by W4S STI-500 and PS Audio PWD2. And I have a couple of Head-Fi systems too.

Even though it is pretty inexpensive, the Peachtree/Harbeth setup gives me a lot of enjoyment and I could happily listen to music on it as my only system. I have thought about upgrading the electronics but I really don't think its worth it.

Just had to modify my second and third systems yesterday. I spent the day cleaning and rearranging everything in the Dining Room to take delivery of my Mother in Laws old set.

The dining room is home to spare speakers and several racks of CDs and DVDs and other audio related items. With the new setup there, I had no room to store my Dynaudio 82s in the corner. (I swapped the Dynes and Clearfields every now and then) I hooked them up to the main system yesterday to see what the sound change was from the new tubes would be before moving them to their new home in the Family Room.

I hooked the 82s to my second system of OPPO93>Hafler 945 Pre-Tuner>Odyssey Stratos Amp. I put the JM Labs Tantal 509s back into the corner built ins, in place of some smaller Polk Monitors.

The JMs are now back in the tertiary system that can be used in Family Room and Outside Patio speakers driven from OPPO93>Rotel RX1050.

The Dyns are a little overkill for new location and slightly nearfield listening position, but the Stratos takes nice control of them.
